High-end foil resistor.
The main feature of MRes Ultra Resistors is manganin™ (alloy of copper, manganese and nickel) foil, well-known for its good tonal properties.
Compared to convenient wound-wire resistors, the foil used in MRes Ultra Resistors provides an order of magnitude lower inductance. Copper (and its alloys) is also significantly softer than the metal-oxide used for MOX resistors. The natural resonances of the manganin™ foil are therefore significantly less pronounced, which means that distortions caused by crystallurgy and electroacoustics are significantly reduced here.
MRes Ultra Resistors are housed in the TO218/220/247/248 format.
